Compasionate Therapy for Every Mind AND Body
The heart of my work is unlearning shaming self-talk and relearning kind ways of treating yourself. Externalize the shame and internalize the compassion.
I do this for folks that don’t feel like they fit in- because of their body, gender, queerness, neurodivergence, race- whoever is plagued with self doubt and feelings of inadequacy.
I am a fat liberationist social worker and therapist. I’m fat myself, and have been most of my life. I’m also queer and I also live with an autoimmune disorder, so I live with managing chronic symptoms and the nuance of caring/advocating for my body. My lived experiences influence my clinical approach, as well as what I have learned from studying anti-fatness, anti-blackness, ableism, and white supremacy.
My mission is to help folks feel more connected to themselves and their bodies, and to feel more cared for by themselves and their communities. I typically try to balance deep, inner exploration with practical, tangible interventions.
Current Offerings
Body Acceptance
I work on rebuilding connection to your body after years of dieting, over exercising, or dissociating from your body. I help with healing body image and finding weight neutral paths forward. I regularly work with anti-diet dieticians and nutritionists and can provide referrals.
Low Self Esteem and Codependency
I help heal past and present day relational traumas while finding more self worth. With self compassion practices, I can guide you in building a kind inner parent to replace old patterns of self criticism.
Neurodivergence
I respect self diagnosis of ADHD or Autism and regularly work with folks who are “late diagnosed”. I love to help navigate what these new diagnoses may mean, learning about each neurotype, and engaging in practical problem solving.
Trainings and Presentations
With my background in teaching, I regularly train other clinicians on how to provide weight neutral and neuro affirming care. I can provide case consults or trainings for your organization. Please complete the contact form for more information.
