What to Expect from a Neurodiversity Assessment with Stiles Therapy:
Step 4: Your Report is Written
I then write a report (typically around 15 pages) that you can use for yourself and a one-page summary that you can use for accommodations or medications.
Step 1: Book a Free Discovery Call
Click here to book a call to speak with Charis Stiles and take the 1st step to your formal assessment. You will pick a time that works for you, and we will connect over the phone. In the call, I will ask you a few questions to understand what you’re looking for; you can ask me any questions that you may have, and I will make sure the assessment fits your needs.
Step 2: The Interview
When you are ready, we will book a time for a 3-hour interview. I assess both ADHD and autism starting with a virtual clinical interview. Most of my diagnosis comes from information gathered in the clinical interview.
Step 3: Complete the Take-Home Questionnaires
After the interview, you will have some questionnaires to complete. The questionnaires are standardized assessments that look at things like sensory experiences, experiences of masking or camouflaging, and monotropism.
Step 5: Get Your Feedback
We finish with a 90 minute long feedback session to review findings and discuss intervention recommendations - i.e. what recommendations I have for you to help support your neurodiversity, including next steps to take and if medication could be an option.
💡Do you want to:
Confirm a self-diagnosis of autism or ADHD?
Explore medication and want a diagnosis to take to a psychiatrist?
Get work or college accommodations but need more documentation?
💡Or perhaps you:
Have a current therapist who suspects you are neurodivergent, but it’s not their specialty?
Want a more affordable assessment process with no wait list?
Have your questions or doubts about your potential diagnosis answered in a neuroaffirming way?
This assessment may be for you!
By the end of this workshop, you'll:
Understand why you keep having the same arguments by recognizing common communication and regulation differences in neurodivergent relationships and what's really happening beneath the conflict.
Gain a deeper understanding of both yourself and your partner, including your unique communication styles, sensory needs, and relationship patterns.
Replace any blame, shame, and assumptions with curiosity, compassion, and mutual understanding, creating more empathy for each other's experiences.
Learn practical tools to repair misunderstandings, reconnect after conflict, and create communication strategies that work for your unique relationship.
This workshop is for couples who...
Love each other but feel like they're constantly misunderstanding one another.
Keep having the same argument, even though they're both trying hard not to.
Feel like they're “speaking different languages”.
Want practical tools - not blame or criticism.
Want to better understand each other's brains, needs, and communication styles.
Are committed to building a relationship where both partners feel understood, respected, and supported.
This workshop is designed for couples where one or both partners identify as neurodivergent in any way, for example:
✅ ADHD + neurotypical/allistic
✅ Autistic + neurotypical/allistic
✅ Autistic + AuDHD + neurotypical/allistic
✅ ADHD + Autistic
✅ ADHD + ADHD
✅ Autistic + Autistic
✅ And more!
It doesn’t matter if you’re self-diagnosed or formally diagnosed, and polyamorous relationships are warmly welcomed.
Meet Your Host
Charis Stiles (she/her)
Founder - Stiles Therapy Collective
I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) living in the SF Bay Area. I provide virtual therapy to folks across California and Oregon. My approach is gentle but direct, and with a heavy dose of humor. I love working with neurodivergent clients on building more self-acceptance and learning practical tools to move past feelings of “stuckness”. I identify as a fat, queer, white cisgender (elder) millennial mom, managing daily life with autoimmune disorders. When I’m not working, I’m reading romance novels, dancing with my toddler, and trying my hand at ceramics.
Helping Couples Understand Each Other
Using an eclectic, neuro-affirming approach, I help people better understand themselves and the relationships that matter most. My work focuses on fostering self-compassion, reducing shame, and helping people communicate in ways that honor their unique brains and sensory needs.
Whether navigating neurodivergence, anxiety, boundaries, emotional regulation, or communication differences, I help clients move away from self-criticism and toward greater confidence and authenticity.

That's completely normal-and often part of the learning process. The activities are designed to foster curiosity and understanding, not to determine who's "right."

We encourage cameras on when possible to help create connection, but we understand that accessibility, sensory needs, or personal comfort may make that difficult. You're welcome to participate in the way that feels most supportive for you.

This workshop is intended for couples who want to strengthen communication and understanding. If your relationship involves ongoing abuse, coercive control, or concerns about emotional or physical safety, this workshop is not an appropriate substitute for individualized support.
-
No. One of the core principles of this workshop is that different communication styles aren't inherently right or wrong-they're different. Rather than trying to change either partner, we'll explore how to better understand each other's needs, reduce misunderstandings, and build a relationship that works for your unique combination of brains. This distinction is likely to resonate with your audience and sets your workshop apart from more traditional relationship advice.
