Stop Having the Same Argument: A Neurodivergent Couples Workshop

A neuro-affirming online live workshop for mixed neurotype relationships to build greater attunement, communication, and connection.

Sunday, September 13th, 10am - 12pm PST (1pm - 3pm EST)

Learn practical, neuro-affirming tools to understand each other better, navigate differences with compassion, and break free from the same recurring arguments.

Many people in mixed neurotype relationships can struggle to communicate, and it’s not because they are broken, wrong, or that they love each other less. They can struggle because their brains process, communicate, and regulate differently.

When those differences are misunderstood, it's easy to fall into cycles of blame, shame, or feeling like you're speaking different languages.

What we will be doing together isn’t couples therapy, but a workshop that is grounded in evidence-informed therapeutic principles and includes:

  • Neuro-affirming psychoeducation (education of psychology concepts)

  • Guided individual and couple reflection

  • Interactive discussions

  • Practical communication and repair tools you can begin using immediately

In this interactive workshop, you'll learn how to better understand each other's needs, recognize common communication differences in mixed neurotype relationships, and develop practical strategies for repairing misunderstandings before they become recurring conflicts.

Let’s stop the argument so you can spend time enjoying each other! Whether that's snuggling on the sofa watching your favorite show, trying a new flavour at your local ice cream shop, or debating whether Sir Pounce-a-Lot or Cindy Clawford is the best name for your new cat.

When we learn to neutralize misunderstandings without shame or blame, joy can flourish!

By the end of this workshop, you'll:

Understand why you keep having the same arguments by recognizing common communication and regulation differences in neurodivergent relationships and what's really happening beneath the conflict.

Gain a deeper understanding of both yourself and your partner, including your unique communication styles, sensory needs, and relationship patterns.

Replace any blame, shame, and assumptions with curiosity, compassion, and mutual understanding, creating more empathy for each other's experiences.

Learn practical tools to repair misunderstandings, reconnect after conflict, and create communication strategies that work for your unique relationship.

This workshop is for couples who...

  • Love each other but feel like they're constantly misunderstanding one another.

  • Keep having the same argument, even though they're both trying hard not to.

  • Feel like they're “speaking different languages”.

  • Want practical tools - not blame or criticism.

  • Want to better understand each other's brains, needs, and communication styles.

  • Are committed to building a relationship where both partners feel understood, respected, and supported.

This workshop is designed for couples where one or both partners identify as neurodivergent in any way, for example:

✅ ADHD + neurotypical/allistic

✅ Autistic + neurotypical/allistic

✅ Autistic + AuDHD + neurotypical/allistic

✅ ADHD + Autistic

✅ ADHD + ADHD

✅ Autistic + Autistic

✅ And more!

It doesn’t matter if you’re self-diagnosed or formally diagnosed, and polyamorous relationships are warmly welcomed.

Charis Stiles (she/her)

Founder - Stiles Therapy Collective

I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) living in the SF Bay Area. I provide virtual therapy to folks across California and Oregon. My approach is gentle but direct, and with a heavy dose of humor. I love working with neurodivergent clients on building more self-acceptance and learning practical tools to move past feelings of “stuckness”. I identify as a fat, queer, white cisgender (elder) millennial mom, managing daily life with autoimmune disorders. When I’m not working, I’m reading romance novels, dancing with my toddler, and trying my hand at ceramics.

Helping Couples Understand Each Other

Using an eclectic, neuro-affirming approach, I help people better understand themselves and the relationships that matter most. My work focuses on fostering self-compassion, reducing shame, and helping people communicate in ways that honor their unique brains and sensory needs.

Whether navigating neurodivergence, anxiety, boundaries, emotional regulation, or communication differences, I help clients move away from self-criticism and toward greater confidence and authenticity.
